Programme Officer, Conservation Science (Maternity Cover)

Salary: Circa £20,000 dependent on skills and experience
Start Date: Mid-September or as soon as possible thereafter
Duration of Contract: This is a temporary position to provide maternity cover and will terminate on or before 7th October 2013 on the return of the existing Programme Manager, Conservation Science from maternity leave

Location: Fauna & Flora International, Cambridge, UK, with travel to the region as required

FFI is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Programme Officer to ensure effective support to the Conservation Science Programme. The successful candidate will assist the Programme Director and Programme Managers in delivering the programme’s targets, through programme coordination, technical support, project reviews, fundraising, and communications. This position is based in FFI’s headquarters in Cambridge, UK.

You will ideally have a higher degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in conservation or a related field, and experience of working with NGOs would be advantageous. You will have strong organisational and time management skills and a structured and methodical approach to work, alongside proven technical skills in a relevant field. With excellent communication skills you will be a self-motivated team player, but equally able to work independently. You will have a proven ability to write concise, well-structured reports. Fluency in English is essential.
