Senior Communications Specialist World Wildlife Fund Jakarta, Indonesia

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Senior Communications Specialist to be posted at the CTSP (Coral Triangle Support Partnership)
Regional Program Office in Jakarta, Indonesia. As part of the US Support to the Coral Triangle Initiative, CTSP is a project supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Senior Communications Specialist will manage and execute communication efforts to strategically engage with stakeholders and audiences about the work and impact of Coral Triangle Support Partnership (CTSP); its achievements to date; and its expected outcomes. He/she will also communicate about the relationship of CTSP to the following entities: US Support for the Coral Triangle Initiative (USCTI); the Regional Plan of Action and National Plans of Action, and the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF). He/she will also link communications with Monitoring and Evaluation efforts. He/she will ensure that CTSP interacts and cooperates with other USCTI implementing partners, USAID Missions, and other development partners on key messaging about the Coral Triangle Initiative and USCTI contributions to its success. The work of this position drives the overall success of CTSP’s communications.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
1.Develops and executes CTSP key messages and communications exit strategy/ legacy, building on the CTSP strategy and work completed at the Year 5 Work Planning Meeting. This includes communications goals, audiences, messengers, key messages and challenges/opportunities associated with reaching each goal. In collaboration with manager, makes all final decisions related to this component of each communications strategy. With support from manager, executes each communications strategy for which he/she is responsible. Encourages – and relies on – the expertise of others to successfully execute all tactics within the strategies.
2.Manages production of CTSP communication materials including:
•Engages USAID and country teams in providing input to materials.
•Works closely with the PI and consortium organizations’ communications departments to harmonize efforts.
•Engages external consultants or vendors; manages their contracting process and reviews and approves work.
3.Maintains and updates CTSP website, including working with external vendors as necessary. Ensures that all target audiences receive/ have access to CTSP communication materials.
4.Anticipates and mitigates communication conflicts through engagement with external stakeholders. Ensures compliance with USAID branding strategy and consortium member communication policy among CTSP field teams.
5.Works with CTSP-funded authors to polish, print, and distribute reports that follow CTSP branding guidelines.
6.Coordinates CTSP and/or USCTI involvement in public events such as conferences, ambassadors’ visits to sites, etc.
7.Plays an integral role in assisting country teams, the PI, and NOAA in scheduling and producing the national and regional closing events in each country and at the regional level as USCTI approaches it close dates.
8.Responds to ad hoc requests on communications matters from the Program Integrator, USAID, the Interim Secretariat, and CT6 governments.
9.Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements (ALL of the following must be met):
1.Bachelor’s degree plus 4 – 6 yrs of work experience required, OR an advanced degree plus 2 yrs experience
2.Knowledge of and familiarity with USAID branding and marking guidelines
3.Self-motivated and able to manage own time and workload as well as those of others (both support staff and vendors)
4.Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude to maintain a forward direction in a frequently-changing environment
5.Able to work in small, interactive team
6.Detail-oriented
7.Strong analytical thinking skills and judgment
8.Excellent English writing skills

Additional preferred skills/experience:
•Work experience preferably in conservation or international development
•Experience living and/or working in Southeast Asia or the Pacific a plus
•Knowledge of and familiarity with marine conservation issues
•Knowledge of other local languages a plus
