Job PurposeThis role will be responsible for defining and supporting the business processes for the Orion Holidays System as they relate to IT, Finance, other key business areas and external vendors. The role will work closely with the IT Project Manager and jointly be responsible for the implementation and role out of phase II and III of the Orion Holidays System (ISO). The role will lead the business project team implementation including ISO product development, product functionality, product delivery, change management and strategic direction. The role will support the finance stream including tracking and reporting and the business stream including process documentation, process reengineering, FAT and UAT testing and be responsible for the ongoing management, development and maintenance of Orion system. The role will manage the day to day management of the operations team of 9 staff including all rosters, staff, performance management, product data load, inventory management, operations queues, all systems user training, product maintenance, systems support for internal sales agents and external customers and systems roll out to expanding distribution outlets.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the interaction and coordination between IT, Finance, other business areas and external vendors. Define and support all business process related to IT and Holidays, support business processing for Finance, Sales, Purchasing and logistics and manage all information interfacing from these systems.
  • Manage the implementation of the Orion Holiday System Phase II program. This will include the Phase II system enhancements and modifications with a focus on business and financial reporting and improved and streamlined customer documentation. Implement the inbound and DMC project including the web solution and company hotel accommodation automation. Manage, review and monitor the Orion Holiday system budget of AED 6m and deliver on time on budget.
  • Develop, manage and maintain the in-house business processes and procedures for Orion and manage the infrastructure related requirement for retail shops, sales operations, the call centre, the DMC and the EYH business. Liaise with each business area within Holidays and DMC to prioritise and manage the ongoing needs of the business.
  • Manage the system product load and maintenance of over 400 products and deliver timely and accurate data and information. Develop the product load and maintenance work flows in conjunction with the Manager Product Contracting and deliver on the EYH & DMC priorities, deadlines and KPI’s.
  • Manage and develop a team of 9 staff including rosters, performance management and training to deliver on the product load KPI’s. Manage the internal sales agent and external customer support and help unit and deliver on agreed customer service levels.
  • Manage the development of the Phase III business requirements and business case for the Holidays digital strategy. Once approved manage the implementation, roll out and ongoing management for the system.
RequirementsQualifications and Education:
  • High standard of education to tertiary level.
  • All travel reservations, ticketing and fulfillment qualifications an advantage

Experience:

  • A minimum of 6 years experience in the airline or travel industry in a large company.
  • Project management experience implementing travel systems in the airline or travel industry with a major company.

Knowledge:

  • A high level of understanding of technology & systems implementation and management.
  • A high level of understanding of wholesale travel sales, booking and fulfillment processes & procedures
  • A high level of understanding of the airline market and Middle East region.
