ChildFund International Kenya Safety & Security Manager

THIS IS A LOCAL POSITION.
Summary:
To mainstream staff safety and security policies and procedures throughout the organisation and build organisational capacity for staff safety and security. Ensure organizational security and mitigation of operational risks for program effectiveness by working with relevant stakeholders on security systems and mechanisms.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for safety and security related elements within ChildFund Kenya programming.
Conduct threats assessments and risk analysis for programs sites.
Ensure implementation and compliance of ChildFund safety and security-related policies and procedures.
Responsible for capacity building and training on safety and security aspects.
Ensure the overall safety and security of the National Office staff and assets against foreseeable threats.
Ensure that contingency systems are in place to respond to a crisis management situation.
Advise the National Director, Crisis Management Team (CMT) and staff on evolving security situation and assess impact on staff, assets and programs.
Build ongoing networks for coordination and sharing of security information.
Ensure collection, analysis and dissemination of security information.
Conduct security investigations as required.
Follow up on security incidents and ensure reports are generated in accordance with ChildFund International Policy.
Required Skills
Degree in Social Science, Police or Military sciences and a formal security qualification or advanced security management training or its equivalent
Qualified First Aider
Must be computer literate

Experience Required
At least 5 year’s experience in a security management position working with INGOs
Experience and knowledge of personnel and organizational security, threat/risk assessment, security management and security awareness in an insecure environment
Strong confidentiality ethic, demonstrate flexibility, and versatility in adjusting to changing environments and requirements as necessary
Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues
Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training
Demonstrated project management, report writing and analytical skills; and the ability to work effectively under pressure
Fluent in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
Radio and/or Satellite phone communications experience, operations and management
No previous criminal record or convictions; certificate of discharge from the armed forces and a certificate of good conduct
Work experience in the rank of inspector or captain or above in either the military/police is desirable
