Director of Web Strategy and Product Net Impact San Francisco, United States

The Director of Web Strategy & Product is a new position with broad responsibility for Net Impact’s online strategy, execution, products and services on netimpact.org. He/she will gather web-related business requirements from different teams, integrate them into a product roadmap, and work with our technology partners to bring our team’s vision to life on the web.

Building on 20 years of success in offline programs and a 30,000-strong member base, Net Impact is embarking on a mission-critical strategy to scale our reach and impact by transforming our organization into one with online as a key pillar. We are looking for the person to lead us through this transformation. She/he will boldly expand our online programming, content and community, making Net Impact the go-to site for people who want to use their careers to change the world. This is a highly collaborative role that will lead a small but growing team and work closely with the Marketing, Community, Career and other program teams to deliver a compelling and differentiated web experience for Net Impact members. Specific Responsibilities

• Develop near and longer-term vision for www.netimpact.org that aligns with our organization’s mission and strategy and complements offline programs
• Collaborate with Program and Marketing teams to deliver an excellent online offering and user experience, which deepens engagement with Net Impact and commitment to careers with impact
• Develop and implement a robust online strategy for Net Impact’s career programming, in collaboration with the Career team, to deliver the most effective site to serve job seeker’s needs
• Determine the right approach to connect Net Impact members online, which is a critical underpinning of our strategy, and execute it within a year
• Lead creation, iteration and management of other online products such as job board, student project portal, chapters portal and more:
- Understand user needs and behavior
- Design, test, manage, and refine web products that lead to strategic outcomes
- Identify and evaluate options ranging from custom build to integrating external solutions
- Manage team, contractors, vendors and/or partners for product implementation
• Create and implement a product backlog and prioritization process for sequencing web and product development needs across the organization
• Determine web and technology staffing needs and build out a team that is envisioned to grow to 5-10 people within 3 years

Requirements

• Online strategy: demonstrated ability to translate ideas and vision into online strategy and tactics, and proactively help stakeholders identify opportunities to use technology to drive program success
• Web and product development: experience leading online product development initiatives from start to finish, including integration of third-party software
• Entrepreneurial: operates well in a changing / growing organization. Self-starter with proven ability to thrive in a less structured environment, be creative and resourceful, and “get their hands dirty.”
• Collaborative: deep experience working with many people and teams in a highly collaborative organizational structure, prioritizing and getting buy-in across many stakeholders
