NTD Contract Manager Sightsavers International Haywards Heath, United Kingdom

Our vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes and where visually impaired people participate equally in society. Each year, we improve the lives of millions of people in the poorest parts of the world.
NTD Contract Manager

Two-year fixed term contract

Haywards Heath or Sightsavers country office
For more than 60 years, Sightsavers has been forging alliances and partnerships across Africa and Asia to treat over 200 million people with potentially blinding conditions. Our long experience has led us to set two ambitious, but achievable, goals to fast track the elimination of onchocerciasis and trachoma– two neglected tropical diseases that are among the leading causes of blindness in the communities we support. You will be central to the delivery of these exciting and far-reaching goals.
Reporting to the NTD Director, you will manage contractual and day-to-day relationships with our implementing agencies. Your remit will span a number of African countries and key partners, as you define and review activity, develop annual plans of work, co-ordinate technical support and oversee aspects of budgeting and accounting.
To be successful in this role, you should bring significant experience of strategic programme leadership, gained within the development sector. This will have given you an impressive record of managing projects spanning multiple countries, backed by high-level expertise in logistics, monitoring and evaluation, and the control of human and financial resources.
Above all, you should be a true strategic thinker with an analytical mindset, a collaborative and involving approach and a culturally sensitive manner. Some command of French would be beneficial but not essential.

As an equal opportunities employer we actively encourage applications from all sections of the community. Qualified people living with a disability are particularly encouraged to apply.
