SECURITY MANAGER FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS ATLANTA, GEORGIA

CARE is seeking an experienced Security Manager for Special Projects.The Security Staff Development & Learning Tours Security Manager is a position that wears two hats.The one is to provide security management and advisories to the Deputy Director, Learning Tours and the other is to manage the security staff development project.

As security manager for Learning Tours, s/he will be required to provide technical advise and managerial support to the Deputy Director, Learning Tours. During a Learning Tour s/he will report directly to the Learning Tours Deputy Director and normal day to day management will be the responsibility of the CSU Director. S/he will be required to complete risk assessments,develop a contextual understanding of the area of operations.Develop, design and implement appropriate safety and security measures in order to reduce exposure to any hazards.S/he will be responsible for acting in crisis and providing advise and support to the Learning Tours Director. S/he will further be responsible for coordinating with regional security managers and develop necessary networks in order to facilitate and support the Learning Tour.

In the role of Security Staff Development Manager, s/he will be responsible for implementing the role out of the Security Focal Point Training with the support of the regional security managers. Identify new and current trainings available and appropriate for the development of security staff and providing training to staff with security responsibilities and Safety and Security Focal Points.

Required Skills:

  • A bachelors degree in a field related to humanitarian work or risk management;
  • 2 – 3 years of humanitarian operational experience;
  • Previously trained safety and security staff;
  • Facilitated and coordinated training events;
  • Advanced written communication skills; ability to synthesis information into a single report;
  • Advanced computer skills;
  • Training Development and facilitation.

Desired Skills:

  • NGO security training;
  • Familiar with the humanitarian mandate and humanitarian law;
  • Additional Language, French, Arabic or Spanish;
  • 2 years of previous work with an NGO (HQ-based or the field);
  • 1-2 years of management experience (project and/or employees;
  • Advanced Computer skills, including been familiar with Articulate.
