Specialist: Production Systems

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the role is to provide direct support to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation by recommending and implementing mining production systems during the Site Implementation projects on the relevant CAR Operations, in line with the CAR Mining Strategy, within budget, on schedule.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
  • Coordinate the scoping of information- and communication systems required for supporting mining production management including fleet management systems, radio communication, and fuel management systems.
  • Develop and manage the execution of detail project plans for implementation of mining production systems.
  • Ensure Regional and corporate guidelines and standards are applied.
  • Working with the site implementation team, regularly report back through to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation on the mining production system implementation progress against plan.
  • Ensure security of the production infrastructure, systems and applications are in line with Regional and Corporate standards.
  • Ensure all users are trained and competent in utilising the production systems.
  • Ensure appropriate maintenance and support capability is established for mining production systems.
  • Assist with implementing the relevant mining production information interfaces with Regional office.
  • Provide direct output support to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation in identifying, analysing and assessing potential, current or future issues / risks that impacts on the execution of the production system implementation plan and suggest concrete solutions using specialist knowledge to solve problems and risks.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A combination of relevant education, technical experience, and training
  • 3+ years managing production systems infrastructure either as a system administrator or manager.
  • Working knowledge of fleet management systems, networking and communication systems.
  • Professional work ethic.
  • Ability to work in an open team and share knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
