Specialist: HME Fleet Mobilisation

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the role is to provide direct support to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation in the safe and successful delivery of all Fleet Mobilisation projects on the relevant Continental Africa Region (CAR) Operations, in line with the new CAR Mining Strategy, within budget, on schedule and in accordance with the approved plans, specifications and applicable government codes.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
  • Develop the HME fleet mobilisation plan covering all project sites.
  • Managing the HME mobilisation across all the project sites according to the mobilisation plan.
  • Coordinate all required resources for mobilisation and commissioning of HME fleets.
  • Assist with mobilisation of HME maintenance and service contracts.
  • Assist the Senior Manager: Site Implementation with HME Supplier and Manufacturer negotiations, Terms and Conditions, SLA's and KPI's and method of delivery.
  • Working with the site implementation team, regularly report back through to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation on the HME mobilisation progress of the projects against plan.
  • Where appropriate escalate serious failure of mobilisation compliance to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation for urgent action and ensure appropriate action is taken to prevent reoccurrence and reduce risk.
  • Ensure effective administration of all relevant documentation associated with the HME mobilisation.
  • Keep the Senior Manager: Site Implementation informed of relevant issues with regulatory bodies, e.g. Traffic Commissioners, local Police and National Compliance Authorities, etc. as appropriate.
  • Participates as a full member of the team by communicating effectively and liaising with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A relevant technical qualification, preferably in an Engineering field
  • A minimum of 5 years in a technical role within the Mining Industry with extensive experience in HME Fleet Mobilisation in remote locations as a prerequisite.
  • Experience in HME maintenance will be an advantage.
  • A high level of forward planning and solution based thinking that includes daily liaison with management, drivers and suppliers to ensure an uninterrupted workflow.
  • Great multitasking, high level of attention to detail, be competent with data entry and effective time management skills along with working positively in diverse team work environments.
