Specialist: HME Infrastructure

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the role is to provide direct support to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation in the safe and successful delivery of all Mining Site Implementation infrastructure projects on the relevant Continental Africa Region (CAR) Operations, in line with the CAR Mining Strategy, within budget, on schedule and in accordance with the approved plans, specifications and applicable government codes.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
  • Coordinate the scoping of all HME Infrastructure requirements associated with mining implementation projects.
  • Develop and manage the execution of detail project plans for design and construction of the required HME Infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and mobilise all required resources for HME Infrastructure projects.
  • Provide engineering design input on a wide range and variety of HME Infrastructure projects, from road or service infrastructure, workshops and service bays, laydown and storage areas, site layouts or similar designs.
  • Ensure professional planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental and construction services is applied to HME infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure effective project management controls applied on HME Infrastructure projects including scheduling, budgeting & cost control, quality management, and change management in accordance to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure effective administration of all relevant documentation associated with the HME Infrastructure projects.
  • Working with the site implementation team, regularly report back through to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation on the HME Infrastructure projects progress against plan.
  • Provide direct output support to the Senior Manager: Site Implementation in identifying, analysing and assessing potential, current or future issues / risks that impact on the execution of the HME Infrastructure projects and suggest concrete solutions using specialist knowledge to solve problems and risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Business Process Framework (BPF), Systems for People (SP) and other relevant AGA policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • An appropriate formal qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in HME infrastructure projects in the mining industry
  • Some experience in a consulting civil engineering environment in the mining industry or in a contractor's design office
