Working in partnership with professional bodies, regional and international development partners as well as working collaboratively with the key stakeholders, you will provide policy, technical and institutional support for public expenditure management, recognising the close link between public finances, effective democratic public authority, political stability and economic growth. This will involve budget planning and implementation, internal and external audit, public procurement, risk management, asset management, expenditure monitoring and reporting and civil society participation in the budgetary process.
With a post-graduate degree or equivalent in public finance, public or business administration, development economics or accounting, you must be an acknowledged authority and author on public expenditure management with extensive experience gained in a ministry of finance. You must have expertise in finance administration; leading a country strategic action plan and reforms; and developing training. Political acumen, a strategic approach and the ability to positively influence regional and country projects, directly or indirectly, are critical to success.
You must be able to operate effectively in our multi-cultural setting and be a national of a Commonwealth country.
