New Borne & Child Health Programme Administrator

Position Description:

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration/Health Service Management (BPA in PA or HSM) from any recognized Institution.

Competencies and Experience

At least 2 years work experience. Working with health programmes will be an added advantage

Good financial and analytical skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Good skills in English language oral and written

Innovativeness, adaptability and open to new learning

Ability to make logistic arrangements and efficiently organize activities

Good computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power point and internet nayiga~on and at least one statistical package.

Key responsibilities

Provide Support to Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) team for all logistics activities including administrative and financial activities.

Participate in the preparation of procurement documents leading to procurement.

Responsible for coordinating other supporting staff in IMCI unit and ensure provision and monitor fuel for IMCI vehicles

Reporting to the Programme Manager, NMCP & New Borne & Child Health (IMCI) DSM

Drivers

Qualifications

Basic Driving Certificate from the National Transport Institute or VETA, with

Driving License Class E (Previously C)

Two years experience of driving with such a license

Key responsibilities

Driving programme vehicles whenever need arises

One reporting to the Programme Manager, NMCP

Another one reporting the Programme Manager, New Borne & Child Health (IMCI)

Medical Doctors

Qualifications

Degree in Medicine with Masters degree in Public Health (MPH), Community Medicine, Tropical Disease Control or Health Policy & Planning from a reputable institution .

Additional training in Quality Improvement will be an added advantage

Competence and experience

Working in health programmes or projects for at least two (2) years

Working in Child Survival and/or Quality Improvement project will be an added advantage

Knowledge in Capacity Building, such as planning, faCilitating training and providing technical assistance

Skills in programme assessment, evaluation and process documentation

Ability to interpret and analyze data

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

Strong computer skills in MS Excel, MS Power Point, Internet navigation and at least one statistical package

Demonstrated self management (motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability)

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the Global Fund - SSF (IMCI component) Implementation

Coordinate the compilation and preparation of IMCI reports quarterly and annually

Management of the IMCI Data Base

Process documentation, M&E of the IMCI programme

Coordinating the preparation of the biannual Progress Updates & Disbursement Request

Statistical Assistant/Data Entry Clerk

Position Description:

Qualifications

Certificate in Ordinary Secondary Education (Form Four), with Certificate in Records Management from reputable institution, and Certificate in Computer applications with highly conversant in Excel & Database programmes

Key responsibilities

Data collection from various sources & compilation

Data entry into malaria data base

Data archive/storage & retrieving

Secretariat to all NMCP Technical Working Group meetings
