Plans, develops, and administers 'Environmental Education for Sustainable Rural Communities' (EESRC) Project;
Identifies and develops job placements for Volunteers, holds preliminary community, ward and district meetings;
Oversees training for Volunteers and evaluates Volunteer assignments;
Provides Volunteer support, including coaching Volunteers in their cross-cultural adaptation and professional development;
Reports to Director / Programming and Training, collects and analyzes project data, revises data collection methods, prepares reports;
Represents the Peace Corps to government official and non-governmental representatives in order to identify and develop the project;-select sites for Volunteers, plan and conduct training of Volunteers and Tanzanian counterparts, and assure support of Volunteers during their service;
Position requires extensive in country travel for up to two weeks at a time, and occasional international travel. A high level of computer skills is required, and a test will be part of the interview process.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in environment, wildlife ecology, water management, agriculture, community development or other field related to the Environment project; Masters degree desirable.
Experience:
Four years progressively responsible experience in the field of environmental or agricultural education; andlor four years teachingltraining adults in agriculture, environment or area related to the EESRC project; international experience desirable.
Language:
Must be completely fluent in both spoken and written Swahili and English.
Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated skill in report and proposal writing, development of statements of work, policy guidelines, and public speaking
Demonstrated skills in counseling, including the ability to motivate adults
Demonstrated knowledge of community based training: delivery, design and implementation
Must be solid team member while at the same time a self starter
All tasks are to be undertaken and completed with minimal supervision, therefore a very high degree of initiative and autonomy are expected.
Regional Coordinator
The Regional Coordinator based in Dodoma will be the official representative for Peace Corps the Region. S / He will be responsible for advancing Peace Corps Tanzania's mission and supporting the needs of all Peace Corps Volunteers based in these regions; assisting in developing volunteer positions, coordinating regional / trainings and meetings, identifying potential Volunteer issues and liaising with home office.
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma or University degree in the area of Community Development, Social Work, or Education
Experience:
The candidate must have a minimum of four (4) years practical experience in management or at least five years experience in a relevant field. Previous experience working with Peace Corps or in a multi-national or international environment required, particularly experience with a Volunteer sending organization. Experience with rural development and local governments are preferred.
Language:
Must be completely fluent in both spoken and written Swahili and English

Outgoing, able to work independently with little supervision, sound judgment

Program Training Specialist (PTS), Education Project
Responsible for supporting the planning, developing, implementing and administering of the secondary education teaching project; Serves asa member of the Programming and Training team and supports Education Volunteers in administrative, training and Volunteer support issues;
Implements approved activities providing continuinq programming and traininQ support for staff and Volunteers and works under the general supervision of the Director of Programming and Training; During the Pre-service Training (PST) cycle, the PTS will be the full time lead technical trainer for hislher project area and take direction from the Training Manager;
Serves as program technical specialist for English teaching; Position requires extensive in country travel.
Education:
Bachelor degree in Education, with a focus in English Language preferred. Coursework in project management, community development or field related field to Peace Corps projects; master's degree desirable
Experience:
Four years progressively responsible experience in the field of education and secondary teaching; and / or four years teaching/ training adults in community development and language acquisition
Language:
Level IV (Fluent) spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
Knowledge: Knowledge of adult education techniques, gender analysis, community analysis and project management.
Abilities:
To work on a team, develop lesson plans, facilitate training classes and workshops. Develop and maintain mid-level contacts within the host government, international aid agencies, and private sector. Plan, organize and execute specific projects within the project and to prepare analytical reports. Render advice employing sound judgment within PC guidelines
Must have well developed listening ability and a sensitive yet pragmatic and realistic manner
Proficient in Microsoft Office
