EBRD Director, Information Technology

Director, Information Technology
London | Excellent salary

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has achieved a vast amount in our 20-year history. Supporting the growth of open, democratic markets, we’re the largest financial investor in our regions of operation. Ultimately, our work makes people’s lives better. Be part of it.

About the role
Information Technology provides the infrastructure for EBRD employees internationally to carry out their work most effectively. In other words, our wider operational mission and strategic goals are underpinned by efficient, innovative IT solutions. So the job of heading up our IT and related strategy, governance, architecture and cost effectiveness is critical to our ongoing success. You’ll be a key business partner to all departments, coordinating, developing and overseeing the delivery of systems, infrastructure and communication networks across the full span of EBRD operations. With a £23 million budget and a team totalling 52 staff and around 100 contractors and consultants, you’ll have the resources to maximise every opportunity offered by new technology to deliver effective IT governance in support of the Bank’s operational, administrative and related programmes. Increased productivity; improved performance; continuous change management – these will be the ultimate focus of your role and the measure of your success within it.

About you
This is a highly influential role at the heart of our leadership team. So you’ll need to come to us with a substantial senior-level IT background, built around a long and proven record overseeing complex, diverse international IT operations – ideally focusing on emerging markets. On top of keen technical expertise, you’ll have the business acumen and strategic planning skills to lead, develop and implement successful enterprise-wide structures and IT strategies. An exceptional people manager and inspiring leader, you’ll be adept at communicating technical issues to users both in person and on paper. Finally, your engagement in the wider IT industry will be proof of your professional standing and influence.

About us
Owned by 63 countries, the European Union and the European Investment Bank, the EBRD supports projects whose funding needs cannot be fully met by the market. We have operations in 33 countries from Central Europe to Central Asia and we are currently expanding into the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean. Our work covers a huge variety of sectors and projects. And while each one of them is unique in the challenges it presents, all share the common goals of encouraging private investment and promoting secure and stable market economies.
