ANAETHESIOLOGIST


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·         Managerial Activities
·         To provide high quality care to hospital patients.
·         To ensure that equipment used is in good condition and safe for use
·         To guide and ensure that self and all staff comply with all regulations contained in the Hospital policies and protocols e.g. confidentiality.
·         To develop and maintain own professional competence and knowledge by keeping abreast of new developments, concepts, work methods etc. both clinical and professional.
·         To attend clinical meetings and hospital committee as may be required from time to time.
·         To lead the emergency response team in the event of patient collapse.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
·         Well coordinated and smooth operations of the ward/department.
·         Effective systems, procedures and standards necessary for safety and high quality care and service to patients.
·         Effective on-the job training and staff development for both ICU and the ward staff to

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
 Education qualifications required
·         Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university.
·         A Master of Medicine or equivalent in Anaesthesia from a recognized university will be an added advantage
·         Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
