AngloGold Ashanti Trainee Process Technicians

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents. AGA employs over 62,000 people globally. In Australia, AGA owns the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine, near Laverton,  and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine, 330 kilometres east-northeast of Kalgoorlie, in which it has a 70% interest and is manager. Independence Group NL holds the remaining 30%.

We are seeking people with little or no experience in mineral processing who are eager to participate in an intensive traineeship program to become qualified Process Technicians with AngloGold Ashanti Australia.

These roles will be permanent positions and are expected to commence in late 2012 at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.   The program will include on-the-job training and an in-depth overview of all aspects of processing.  Individuals completing this training will obtain the nationally recognised Certificate II in Metalliferous Mining Operations (Processing).   Upon successful completion of the training component of the program, Process Technicians will be placed at either Sunrise Dam Gold Mine or the Tropicana Gold Mine.

These roles are initially based on an 8 and 6 FIFO roster with direct flights from Kalgoorlie to the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.

• Demonstrated reliability and a good work history;
• Committed to, or able to demonstrate, prior experience working shift work or FIFO;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office
• Team focused - able to work collaboratively and safely within a small team;
• Physically fit and able to meet the challenges of working in this role;
• Hold a current ‘C' class manual drivers licence, preferably for at least 12 months.
