Green Alliance Senior Economist

Can you stimulate fresh thinking?
Green Alliance is one of the UK’s leading think tanks. Founded in 1979 “to inject an environmental perspective into the political life of Britain” it has been generating new insights and influencing change for over 30 years. We are focused on bringing the best business, academic and NGO thinking to the debate about the UK’s economic future, and to secure the next steps in the transition to a low carbon and sustainable economy.
Green Alliance has secured funding to establish a centre for sustainable economics. We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic economist to lead this programme of work. You will build a national profile as a leading thinker, strengthen the economic and financial market capability of Green Alliance and develop joint work with peers in the business, academic and NGO community.
You will have a strong academic education, preferably with an advanced degree in economics. You will have the intellectual breadth to understand the power of markets, their limits, and the dynamic nature of economies. You will also be able to reflect and explore the impact of environmental constraints on macroeconomics. You will apply these skills with strategic vision to build a ground-breaking programme of work and to play a leading role at the heart of the most important public policy debate of our time.
If you think you can stimulate fresh thinking then visit www.green-alliance. org.uk for more information about the role and the application process. For a confidential conversation about the role please contact Louise Humphrey on 020 7630 4518 or lhumphrey@green-alliance.org.uk
Deadline for applications is 5pm Monday 12 November.
