BBC Media Action
12 month Fixed Term Contract

BBC Media Action (formerly known as the BBC World Service Trust) is the independent international charity of the BBC. We believe in the power of media and communication to help reduce poverty and support people in understanding their rights. This post sits within the communications team and is responsible for coordinating and planning the content for the website, overseeing editing and writing, and web content generated by multiple authors.

As New Media Editor, based in London, you’ll ensure that the website is at the heart of communication plans for the charity, both for HQ and country offices based around the world. You will plan and coordinate a range of editorial opportunities to maximise the charity’s web presence. You will develop and implement new media activities across BBC Media Action, taking a leading role in ensuring editorial propositions are met fully. You’ll ensure that a publishing commissioning and delivery process is implemented while also devising and delivering the site's ongoing marketing plan.

You will have a detailed understanding of, and interest in, international development and/or international affairs. Aligned to this will be your demonstrable interest in new media and how to exploit it for our purposes.
