With financial support from the EC, Sightsavers is working with partner organisations to implement a regional programme that aims at improving the quality and quantity of eye health services in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
 
Reporting to the Regional Director in the East, Central and South Africa (ECSA) region, the overall purpose of this role is to ensure effective management and delivery of the programme.
 
This is a senior level post and the ideal candidate will be an experienced development professional with sound experience of programme management in addition to managing donor funded projects. Experience with EC funded projects will be an advantage.
 
Extensive experience in an NGO environment is required with demonstrated skills in programme design and development, as well as programme review, learning and improvement.  A minimum of a first degree in social sciences, development studies, public health or a related field is essential. A post graduate degree is desirable.
 
You will be a person of high integrity who possesses good interpersonal, planning and organisational, report writing and computer skills with an ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision, and travel within the programme countries.
