Research Leader RAND Europe

Research Leader: Education, Children and Families (Negotiable from £40,000)
RAND Europe is seeking a Research Leader to contribute to the development of our education, children and families work through research and analysis, policy implementation and business development, with a particular focus on Europe and the Middle East.
The role involves undertaking high-quality and objective research and analysis with sophisticated analytical tools and methodologies, engaging with clients to ensure our research and analysis impacts on policy formation and implementation, and developing new business opportunities for RAND Europe in the education, children and families policy domains. A strong track record of European research, working with European institutions, public policy evaluation and performance management experience, good quantitative and linguistic skills, and/or experience of working in the Middle East are all desirable.
  • You should have proven experience (5+ years) of managing and delivering significant contract research and analysis projects, an ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams or contexts, and a commitment to improving public policy formation and implementation. 
  • Along with good interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and to engage with a diverse policy audience.
  • Individuals with relevant senior experience and expertise in research and analysis, policy formation and implementation and business development are encouraged to apply. 
  • An advanced degree in a relevant field such as education, public policy, economics, behavioural science, or social science is essential.
RAND Europe's own knowledge and experience is frequently augmented by co-operation with U.S.-based RAND staff, as well as through collaboration with individuals and organisations throughout Europe and in the Middle East. RAND Europe has contributed to important policy decisions in many sectors of regional, national, and international government, as well as in the private sector. The post will be based in our Cambridge office, but will involve substantial travel (up to 20-30%) within Europe and to our other offices in the United States and the Middle East.
