DINFOS INSTRUCTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Provide training support to produce qualified public affairs specialists to the DOD, other federal agencies and selected foreign nations who are well versed in public affairs and journalistic writing.
  • This includes basic training in the principles, techniques and applications of public affairs and journalistic writing as well as intermediate training in journalism and photojournalism.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S. or B.A Degree
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in preparing and conducting training programs for employees government organizations
  • Graduate of the Defense Information School
  • Demonstrated expertise in military public affairs
  • A subject matter expert on all types of public affairs theories, practices and techniques, including journalism, design and photography, based on accepted DOD practices and the Associated Press Stylebook
  • Familiar with the theory and application of role-playing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S. or B.A Degree in journalism, public relations or communication
  • Demonstrated expertise in military public affairs at least at the senior NCO level
  • Graduate of the Defense Information School public affairs course and Instructor Training Course
