Position Summary Coordinates geophysical work assignments and makes recommendations on technical applications developed by other professional personnel or consultants. Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff. As a specialist, conducts complex and advanced level studies. Work is generally reviewed for results only. Makes independent decisions within broad guidelines and policies. Makes recommendations concerning selection, training, discipline and remuneration of staff. Evaluates depletion plans, development expansion, acquisitions, divestments and exploration potential.

Key Accountabilities Investigates, evaluates and recommends new areas for exploration through geophysics applications and analyses. Interprets and evaluates 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional seismic, gravity, and magnetic data utilizing state-of-the-art systems and equipment. Supports development drilling programs requiring geophysical interpretation. Ensures adherence to organizational requirements, industry standards, and government regulations. Recommends sites for drilling and developing reserves by examining existing properties, property acquisitions and leasing activity utilizing geologic principals and monitoring competitor drilling results, exploration activity, and new developing technology. Reports test outcomes by preparing presentations, reports, site maps, etc. in response to management requests and/or supporting drilling and acquisition opportunities. Maintains test information and geologic database. Provides direct supervision of a group of professionals. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute Specialist Knowledge/Languages and Experience Needed: Able to manage a multi-disciplinary team and with track record of planning and delivery of projects Recognised expertise and demonstrable track record of delivery in QI geophysics and geophysical interpretation for all geological scales across a wide variety of depositional environments and structural settings. Proven record of influencing and disseminating new technologies across organisations.  Understands role and impact of the expertise and discipline within the wider business context. Either a PhD, specialist MSc or equivalent post graduate qualification in geoscience OR sufficient relevant industry experience is required. . Excellent communication skills and able to work effectively across different cultures. Has the ability to engage, influence and energise a wide range of stakeholders on the business benefits of technology applications in own area of expertise.  Excellent presentation skills and clear and convincing report writing ability.  Proven skills in time and project management. Must be effective operating in a matrix team structure.
