Oxfam GB is looking for a superb people-manager, who will lead the development of resilience programme policy for the organisation. The newly formed Agricultural and Natural Resource Use Unit (ANRUU) has a mandate to provide thought-leadership across Oxfam GB’s programming on the equitable and sustainable intensification of agriculture and the identification of solutions for rural populations stuck in vulnerability and poverty, including the creation of viable livelihoods for those facing a precarious future. The ANRU unit is made up of several expert technical advisers across the areas of climate change, adaptation in agriculture, gender and women’s economic leadership, and governance of natural resources for rural communities.
 
The role
We are looking for an exceptional candidate who thrives on team leadership while bringing recognised, proven expertise in resilience and learning. As manager you will need to influence colleagues working across the organisation, looking to drive innovation, through your team. It’s also critical that you lead a strategic organisational learning agenda of practical approaches to integrating resilience, ensuring that women's rights are central to these approaches and women-specific risks incorporated into strategies. 
You will support country programmes integrate good practice on delivering resilient outcomes for target populations and ensure the effective development and dissemination of programme policy on resilience. You will represent Oxfam corporately and manage high profile external relationships, supporting high-level lobbying and advocacy and fund-raising.
 
What we’re looking for
It goes without saying that your technical and operational expertise in this area is very strong. However, as Team Manager with seven line-reports to manage you must also have excellent people management skills, and a proven ability to lead and motivate. You’re confident working in complex and diverse environments, including working with governments, international organisations, and private sector
A strong analytical and conceptual thinker, you’re able to communicate easily and readily, as well as being able to translate complex issues into simple, workable actions and plans. A willingness to travel extensively and for extended periods is essential, whilst a working knowledge of French, Spanish or Portuguese would be desirable.
