Communications Officer
Summary: Pact is seeking a Communications Officer (CO) to support implementation of an anticipated project that is funded by the United States Government. This position is contingent upon award. The CO is responsible for internal and external communications, including writing, editing and posting public materials. The CO also helps other Departments by reviewing and editing documents as well as creating presentation multi-media materials.
The CO reports to the Chief of Party.
Specific Duties:
• Managing internal communications including developing and implementing an overall strategy—in coordination with the MPE project leadership • Helping manage branding strategy rollout and integration • Developing and implementing a website strategy, including revising and crafting new content as well as managing and updating current content • Work with the Chief of Party to place stories about the MPE project in both internal Pact systems and external sites • Participating in external engagements, including conferences, trade shows, speaking engagement and publishing • Drafting, updating and creating marketing materials to support the programming services function; copy editing materials for communications and opportunity development teams • Writing and editing press releases, op eds, essays, fact sheets and articles for external audiences • Other projects and tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
BA and at least 6 years of relevant experience (or equivalent) Fluency in English
Preference for: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and other tools for Web and graphic design • Familiarity with international development topics and related issues • Experience in writing for media and internet
• Experience with online content management software and strong grasp of online marketing Skills and Abilities:

Technical Skills • Good experience in one of Pact’s technical areas or a support function • Working knowledge and understanding of donor policies and regulations • Competence using common desktop applications and internal systems
