The role

We are currently seeking a talented Urban Planning Manager to work closely with our other specialists to deliver Urban projects.
With a minimum of 10 years commercial experience in Urban Planning, you will play a key role in:
  • Developing and leading the regional planning team.
  • Identifying, winning and delivering projects to a consistently high standard of timeliness and quality and in line with the business plan.
  • Working co-operatively with other functions in SMEC to deliver planning outcomes for clients and projects.
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have the demonstrated ability to consistently:
  • Manage the planning elements of major and complex successfully to budget and client specifications. Experience in urban planning, preparation of planning applications and reports to all levels of government. Experience in the co-ordination of the planning elements within multi-disciplinary land development projects
  • Submit technical reports of a standard requiring minimal correction; and provide final review of reports
  • Manage, develop and resource a team effectively;
  • Build trusting and fruitful client relationships;
  • Prepare successful proposals with the correct client pitch and budget.
