SAP BW Developer

UNICEF requires a SAP BW developer to write and maintain the programs needed to extract, transform and load SAP VISION data into the SAP BW database. This data is then moved to the UNICEF Enterprise Data Warehouse for further processing and use in dashboards and reports. This position will be based at UNICEF’s New York Headquarters. You will report to a section manager and work within a team dedicated to this new initiative at UNICEF.
Working within the Business Intelligence team and with the SAP Functional Analysts, the consultant will participate in the following activities:
• Mapping business and reporting requirements to SAP BW business content
• Developing the gap analysis
• Source to target mapping
• SAP data extraction
• Cube modeling
• Data transformation
• Info Cube population and
• BEx query development
• Develop Info cubes for different loading scenarios
• Create technical specifications, configuration and design documents from SAP BW using Solution Manager methodology.
These Info cubes, data store objects, and BEx queries will be made available to the report writing team to develop standard reports for SAP users using a third party vendor tool. Hence the ideal candidate must provide evidence of successful experiences in the following:
SAP BW Skills
• Configuration of standard SAP extractors, Enhancement of standard extractors, creation of custom extractors.
• Creation of Info Packages.
• Modelling of master data tables, Info Cubes and Data Store Objects. Building of security and authorization objects for Info Cubes, Info Objects and hierarchical structures.
• Development of data transformation packages.
• Development of BEx queries.
• Automation of all steps using Process Chains.
The skills and experience required for this assignment are:
• Minimum three years experience in the SAP BW environment with Oracle as backend. Experience with Netweaver BW 7.0 preferred.
• Proven experience in SAP BW project planning, requirements gathering and
• Strong analytical skills needed for gap analysis and source to target mapping.
• Strong communication skills – consultant will be working as part of a larger team and will be required to provide knowledge transfer to the core team on all SAP BW related configuration.
• Strong writing skills.
Hours of Work: The selected candidate is expected to work 7 hours/day.
Duration of the Consultancy: Estimated 11 Months
