Financial Specialist
Introduction:
The successful candidate will design, revise and/or implement accounting procedures in accordance with accounting principles and treasury requirements. Furthermore, he/she will conduct surveys to prepare recommendations for improvements, controls, new methods, and other changes to improve the efficiency of accounting systems, and be responsible for the preparation of annual financial reports and audits.
Responsibilities:
  • Formulate procedures, policies, and guidelines for assigned accounting programmes
  • Perform financial duties of unusual significance or importance to ICASA
  • Act as a liaison with other departments, organisations, and employees to coordinate accounting programmes
  • Plan and coordinate the training of staff in accounting regulations and systems
  • Serve as a technical advisor and liaison with industry, community groups, and/or governmental agencies.
  • Prepare annual financial statements using CaseWare
  • Maintain records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 and NQF Level 8 (specifically as a CA)
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in a senior accounting position within the electronic communications or regulatory environment
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • Performance-focused and results-driven
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to cope with stress, conflict and crises
  • Problem-solving skills.
