KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT PRODUCER/PROJECT MANAGER FOR ONLINE DIALOGUES - LONG TERM AGREEMENTS (LTA)
Background | |
Acknowledging the important role that knowledge plays in UNDP’s core mandate of assisting development partners in responding to crisis, contributing to the achievement of the MDGs and fostering human development, UNDP’s new Knowledge Management Strategy Framework 2014-2017 documents prior organizational challenges and achievements, presenting a new way forward to share and utilize UNDP’s global expertise and strengthen its role brokering knowledge for development.
As one priority area within this strategy, the Knowledge, Innovation and Capacity Group (KICG) within UNDP’s Bureau for Policy and ProgrammeSupport (BPPS) works to support, among other things, clients and partners in managing knowledge mobilization, dialogue, facilitation and exchange initiatives, both internally as well as externally with partners and the global public. Prominent examples in the past have been the Rio+20 Online Dialogues and the Post-2015 Consultations which mobilized a large number of experts and individuals from development organizations, academia and the global public to discuss issues and crowd-source recommendations for sustainable development and what should follow the Millennium Development goals.
As part of this process UNDP uses its online collaboration platform Teamworks to host online discussion spaces for consultations where individuals and stakeholders can contribute to specific discussions, own and contribute content, submit and vote on recommendations, as well as to synthesize and contextualize contributions to the initiative. This includes methods for visualizing all contributions in a dynamic cross-cutting manner to show overall trends and break them down into a combination of regional, country and demographic groupings. The management of such online consultations requires a unique skillset that involves project coordination, online facilitation, community management, communications and social media, and content management.
A KM Producer/Manager for Online Dialogues is sought to support UNDP’s upcoming knowledge mobilization, dialogues and exchange initiatives. The producer will have a coordinating role, serving as primary focal point for clients, acting as project manager of the initiatives and ensuring internal and external communications, facilitation and client outreach activities are of high quality and serve the objectives of the initiatives as well as the needs of the stakeholders involved.
Situated within the Knowledge, Innovation and Capacity Group, reporting to the KM Advisor, he/she is responsible for providing coordination, facilitation, community management, communication, social media, outreach, content management and event management advisory support and training to internal colleagues and external partners and clients to support the knowledge mobilization and dialogue initiatives of the organization. | |
