Whoever we are, wherever we live, we all have basic human rights. But to assert them, we need to know what they are. Join Amnesty International’s (AI) expert human rights education centre and empower individuals the world over to understand and demand their rights.
 
About the role
Based in Norway but inspiring and leading teams all over the globe, this senior role will focus on shaping and delivering impactful, robust human rights education strategies and initiatives. But while you’ll ensure we adopt a joined-up, movement-wide approach that’s consistent with our overarching objectives, you won’t stop at strategic planning and advice. You’ll ensure the human rights education teams around the world are supported and able to hone their approach to reflect regional challenges and context. You’ll also see to it that our approach is coordinated and managed to a high standard, both in terms of execution and resource planning. At the same time, you’ll share learning; ensuring an integrated, effective and ethical approach to education across AI, and beyond. All while building on our Human Rights Education Centre’s reputation for excellence
 
About you
The work you do at AI will have a positive impact on millions. So you’ll need to possess expert practical knowledge and analytical understanding of human rights education and the methodology behind it. And whether you gained your ability to analyse the impact of civil society trends and social movements at another NGO or in academia, your knowledge will be supported by experience in organisational development and governance. Naturally, you will also need the vision, management and planning skills to develop strategies from concept to evaluation, plus the flexibility to adapt your plans and manage conflicting priorities in a constantly evolving environment. And as an engaging, credible and persuasive leader, you’ll have the presence, communication and advocacy skills to motivate remote teams and influence our most senior people.
