Communications Officer

About Us
Education for the Children is an international development charity working in Guatemala, Central America.
EFTC breaks the cycle of poverty through education, empowerment and enterprise, working at the heart of the community. Over 560 children are educated at EFTC's primary and secondary school and through scholarships to local colleges and universities.
Food, health and counselling programmes run alongside education to give an integrated approach to learning, providing security and ensuring the children and young people can make the most of their education.
About the Role
Based at the project in Jocotenango, Guatemala, you will project manage all of EFTC's communications, ensuring there is a coordinated flow of information across the international offices.
You will receive up to one month's, full-time training in the UK office (Nottingham, NG1) prior to departure and you will receive in-country support upon your arrival in Guatemala.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated Communications Officer who believes in the value of education and is interested in developing a career in communications.
This is a hands-on role for an individual who is keen to gain immediate experience whilst learning and developing skills for future career progression.
You will serve as the day-to-day contact for all communications, developing, delivering and promoting all EFTC communications through coordination with the Guatemala, US and UK offices
What we Offer
In return we offer a salary of Q4,500 (Guatemalan Quetzales) a month which is enough to cover general monthly expenses, including accommodation and food.
This a one-year, temporary position but there is the possibility of an extension at the end of the term.
