Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) is responsible for the management of the Government Pension Fund Global and the Foreign Exchange Reserves. The portfolios are valued at approximately NOK 5000 billion and invested in international equity, fixed income and real estate markets. Allocation Strategies manages the Fund’s overall exposure towards asset classes and risk factors. The department consists of four groups with dedicated portfolio managers, economists, investment analysts, and researchers.
The positions are based within the Fund Overlay group, which is responsible for macro input to the Fund’s ongoing investment decisions and plays a key role in shaping NBIM’s view on main return drivers for the Fund. In addition the group has a global macro mandate in FI, EQ and FX with an absolute return objective.
We are looking to further strengthen our macroeconomic research capacity with investment-oriented and dedicated economists. The positions are located in Oslo and London. Travel will be required.
Main macro research task:
  • Analyse the medium and long term economic sustainability of countries
  • Structure and interpret key macroeconomic information
  • Monitor central bank policy and global macroeconomic risks, and draw implications for asset performance
  • Develop dynamic macroeconomic models for asset allocation across asset classes, countries, fixed income segments and sectors
  • Conduct in-depth country analysis and draw investment implications for key emerging markets
  • Suggest, prepare and present macroeconomic investment cases for the Fund Overlay group
Main qualifications:
  • Relevant Master’s degree or equivalent with strong academic records
  • Expertise in applied econometrics
  • 5-7 years’ experience, preferably from an investment organisation
  • Ability to interact and build relationship with key internal and external experts
  • Ambition to excel
  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
