| Job purpose and key deliverables | Operational
- Ensure appropriate Data Centre infrastructure and processes are in place to allow effective, resilient core data centre operations supporting the BAT applications landscape
- Support the development of new and improved service capabilities to meet changing global business requirements
- Manage the implementation of effective change within data centre operations acting as a gatekeeper across the infrastructure landscape
- Analyze and asses data centre designs, project requirements, technical proposals and route cause analyses ensuring fit for purpose implementations and outputs
- Serve as a technical consultant in times of major outages improving the overall IT Services RTO
Transformational
- Pro-actively adopt new global processes, tools, policies and metrics.
- Analyse the current estate and propose cost effective optimized solution driving down data centre operations risk and cost profile

| Essential requirements |
- Performs a range of technical and professional work activities in order to:
- Manage the data centre environment and the technical configuration of the underlying infrastructure
- Ensure technology team are providing necessary infrastructure to support application
- Act as SME for the following Data Centre Technologies: Storage, Load Balanced Solutions, Resilience, Disaster Recovery
- Uses agreed global, standardised IT Service Management processes
- Ensure effective evaluation of business risks and issues related to operational incidents, potential infrastructure changes and internal audit reports.
- Implement appropriate risk management processes and take appropriate and timely actions.
- Plans and manages own work to deliver agreed objectives and outputs
- Focuses on quality and professional standards and personal growth
- Ensure the applications requirements are understood and that infrastructure and suppliers deliver against those requirements.

| Desirable requirements |
- Degree Educated, with 6-8 years post graduate work experience including the management of complex IT infrastructure environment
- Experience in large global organisation using in-sourced and out-sourced IT services
- In depth knowledge of technology infrastructure requirements of supported applications
- Specialist knowledge of best practice IT Service Management (ITIL) in selected processes
