FOUR PAWS is an international animal welfare organization with headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and has offices in 11 other countries. Founded in 1988, the organization pleads for animal welfare through sustainable campaigns and projects. FOUR PAWS focuses on animals that are directly under human influence, for example stray dogs and stray cats, farm animals, wild animals in captivity and companion animals kept in inappropriate housing. FOUR PAWS aims to help animals in need directly and quickly.
We are offering an overview about the structures within an international NGO and are searching for a positive thinking personality with great affinity to animal welfare as soon as possible:
TRAINEE IN COMMUNICATION WITH EXPERIENCE  for the
 European Policy Office (m/f)
Interviews in July-August / Start in September / 6 months / 38 hours per week / Brussels
Main opportunities:
  • Support planning and implementation of communication activities – in alignment with Director of EPO office and FOUR PAWS HQ in Vienna
  • Contribute in writing and sending out press releases to EU relevant and key media
  • Support the creation of a network of key European Media
  • Contribute in maintaining media and press contacts
  • Support social media activities
  • Support production of printing materials
  • Deal with specific European topics linked to Animal Welfare
  • Participate in the coordination with the colleagues based in the Headquarter as well as those based in the local offices
  • Accompany the monitoring and evaluation work of all communication activities
  • General support office management
Requirements:
  • Already experienced in communications at European level
  • Good communication skills (writing and oral)
  • Good knowledge of IT tools
  • Good knowledge of graphic tools much appreciated
  • Capacity to respond in time to urgent situations
  • Interest in social media – an asset
  • Fluent English and excellent German
  • Highly motivated, driven, creative and open-minded, willing to learn
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Legal authorisation to work in Belgium
