Researcher in Communications Networks Division – Mobile Networks Department

REQUIREMENTS

The Communication Networks Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a research position in its Mobile Networks Department.

Interest is in the areas of cellular technologies (and specifically, LTE), IEEE 802.11ac, mmWave, cognitive radio and networks, and the application of SDN and NFV architectural principles in such networks. We are looking for a researcher interested in and capable of designing and developing network simulation and experimental platforms for 5G networks. Therefore, the ideal researcher should demonstrate background in as many as possible areas out of the following list: cellular mobile communication systems (LTE), WiFi networks, experience in implementation of system level simulators, real-time emulators, and experimental prototyping.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Interested researchers must be strongly motivated, hold an MSc or Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer science, or related area, and have the capacity of carrying out collaborative innovative research.

CONDITIONS

The contract duration for the potential position would be 12 months, renewable on a yearly basis subject to performance and budgetary constraints. The salary would be defined according to previous experience and skills of the interested researcher.
