Australia Global Corporate Engagement and Due Diligence Officer

The primary role of this post holder is to provide the capacity of the Global Corporate Engagement Unit to implement and operationally manage the Global Due Diligence Decision Processes that underpins WVI's global Corporate Due Diligence Policy. These responsibilities range from initiating the various due diligence research phases,compiling the initial due diligence report and then leading the collaboration process across the Partnership to obtain the views and perspectives of various stakeholders. Finally this post holder will produce the final recommendation report for the Global Corporate Engagement Council's decisions. The ability to manage our global Corporate Knowledge Base is seen as a major task and role of the Corporate Engagement Unit. The secondary role of this postholder is to manage the design and maintenance of the knowledge base as well as the management and development of content. Promotion of the system to encourage participation and use throughout global Corporate Network across all WV offices will also be a key responsibility. Content development will include further work on the Sources of Value project, including managing the release and promotion of an external research publication, and development of a Global Corporate Engagement Toolkit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all the operational aspects of the Global Corporate Due Diligence Approval protocols. This includes responsibility for: The due diligence research phases including the management of any marketing based research in addition to the use of EIRIS, our primary due diligence research agency Writing the initial due diligence assessment report and working with Legal and Risk to turn this document into the base report against which all later comments and perspectives will be based Setting up the composition and then leading the collaboration of views and perspectives across the interested parties for any due diligence process Collating the collaboration feedback, seeking to alignment and reach agreement across the Partnership Production of the final recommendation report for the Global Corporate Engagement Council Follow up and progress reporting for any Council conditions applied to a due diligence outcome Ensuring a full document trial and managing the communication of outcomes to the wider network Provide the day to day management of the Corporate Knowledge Management system based on the Confluence Web platform. Specifically: Lead the design and architecture of the systems Manage the content and ensure that the categorisation and logic of the system is maintained Promote the system to all users and ensure that their continued use and contributions to the system is promoted Develop various content related to the Sources of Value Project and GCE Toolkit Manage the promotion and release of external research publication developed in 2010. Ensure that the due diligence processes and policies relevant to all WV Offices are known to key staff and provide and training and support to this group as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required: Deep knowledge of Corporate Social responsibility and the ethical assessment systems that underpin the ability to assess due diligence risk; Masters level qualifications in Social / Community Development; Post graduate qualifications in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility ; Exposure to ethical assessment systems ( eg GRI ); Experience working in an INGO type environment; Excellent report writing background in sustainability and risk assessment.

Preferred: Knowledge of the operations of International Development INGOs
