Director of Finance
The E-Collaborative for Civic Education seeks a finance professional to join our team as a part-time consultant, with possibility of promotion to full-time employee status with full benefits.
The E-Collaborative for Civic Education’s mission is to leverage technology to promote democracy and human rights internationally. ECCE’s flagship project, Tavaana – meaning “empowered” and “capable” in Persian – is an e-learning space offering instruction e-courses and manuals, as well as case studies of global civic struggles, video interviews with civic leaders, translation of key resources, a democracy and human rights resource library and Internet freedom and cybersecurity resources. The Director of Finance will assume responsibility for the organization’s finances, including:
- Preparation and monitoring of the annual budget
- Managing all grant accounting, compliance and financial reporting
- Revenue and cash management
- General ledger account reconciliation and maintenance
- All payroll and benefits
- Tax reporting
- Implementing and enforcing all financial and human resources procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- 8-10 years in NON-PROFIT budgeting, accounting or finance with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience managing USAID and other USG grants
- Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to continuously grow and improve the organization’s operating policies and procedures.
