Project Coordinator, Curriculum Management

The E-Collaborative for Civic Education seeks a motivated self-starter to join our team and contribute to our flagship project, the Tavaana E-Learning Institute for Iranian Civil Society.

The E-Collaborative for Civic Education’s mission is to leverage technology to promote democracy and human rights internationally. ECCE’s flagship project, Tavaana – meaning “empowered” and “capable” in Persian – is an e-learning space offering instruction e-courses and manuals, as well as case studies of global civic struggles, video interviews with civic leaders, translation of key resources, a democracy and human rights resource library and Internet freedom and cybersecurity resources. The Project Coordinator for curriculum management will take the lead in coordinating curriculum specialists and partner organizations to develop new course curricula, in addition to other programmatic support tasks. The Project Coordinator will have flexibility to grow with us, and we are looking for candidates with the motivation and initiative to make the position their own.

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of new curricula, including necessary research, writing, and correspondence with experts and course instructors
  • Managing administration of courses and webinars
  • Researching and writing case studies and other supplementary curricula as assigned
  • Supervising one or two interns each season
  • Uploading and managing English and Persian language content on the website and acting as a “website copy-editor” to make sure the content is of the highest quality
  • Gathering/updating new resources and assets for the website, including the library
  • Conducting video and text interviews as necessary
  • Using demonstrated knowledge about Iran, Iranian civil society and Iranian politics to contribute ideas to project development and strategy


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong interest in education, curriculum development and e-learning
  • Minimum FIVE years programmatic experience in international education, civil society training and/or capacity building
  • Strong sense of ethics and impeccable attention to security issues and confidentiality of information
  • Persian/Farsi language fluency (including reading/writing) is REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort with technology. Please specify the software you have used in your resume/cover letter. Must be comfortable learning and using new technology.
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong research and writing abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in Iran and issues of human rights and civil society is highly desirable.
