Field Research Supervisor Center for International Forestry Research

The Center for International Forestry Research advances human wellbeing, environmental conservation and equity by conducting research to inform policies and practices that affect forests in developing countries. We are one of 15 centres within the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. Our headquarters are in Bogor, Indonesia, and we have offices in Asia, Africa and South America.

CIFOR is looking for a Field Research Supervisor for the Global Comparative Study on REDD (GCS-REDD) project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and conduct field research (including pretesting) at REDD project sites in Indonesia.
Hire and train enumerators for field research.
Actively participate in revising and improving field research methods and instruments.
Assure the quality of the research results through careful scrutiny of survey forms prior to encoding.
Prepare field work reports.
Participate in meetings as required.
Any other duties as assigned.

Deliverables:

High quality and completed field research data and reports that are delivered to the Data Analyst based in Bogor, Indonesia, within the agreed deadline.

Requirements:
Masters degree in a related discipline
Experience in conducting socio-economic surveys and fieldwork
Familiar with issues concerning Indonesian forestry
Familiarity with REDD is a plus
Able to conduct field work for an extended period of time (3 - 6 months).
