Job Location: Members of Concern’s Short Term Assignment Resource Team (START) will be deployed to various Concern country programmes for varying time periods ranging from 4 weeks up to 6 months. It is estimated that members of the START will be deployed at all times. In between deployments START person may work from home whilst also expected to spend time in our offices in Dublin and/or London. Pay Band: 4 (€34,239 - €40,281) Background: Concern worldwide is establishing a Short Term Assignment Resource Team (START) to develop organisational capacity where by experienced staff will be available to fill ‘gaps’ for key positions across the organisation. Members of the START team will be required to fill gaps in non-emergency programmes, existing chronic emergencies and may also be required to respond to sudden on-set emergencies. It is also envisioned that members of the START may be asked to assist in field in a mentoring/coaching capacity for new staff, assist with fundraising initiatives and take responsibility for other tasks as requested. Job Purpose: When deployed to fill an identified resource gap overseas the Logistics Coordinator will have specific responsibility for ensuring Concern standard logistics and related administrative systems are established and implemented within Concern country programmes and that an effective supply chain is in place at all times. Main duties & Responsibilities:  Management of country logistics and related administration function  Ensure proper supply chain management practices and procedures are in place and maintained according to Concern standards – to include sourcing and procurement, warehousing, transportation and commodity distribution systems  Ensure country logistics systems are configured to provide optimum support to country programmes  Management responsibility for country transport fleet, ensuring management and operational practices adhere to Concern standard procedures  Ensure that adequate anti-fraud procedures are in place and that abuse of Concern’s logistics systems does not occur  Responsible for ensuring that Concern’s HAP (Humanitarian Accountability Partnership) commitments as they relate to logistics are in place and adhered to  Responsible for training and capacity building of logistics and related staff  Responsible for ensuring donor procurement procedures and other donor guidelines as they relate to logistics activities are strictly adhered to

Person specification: Essential: • Third level degree • Three years relevant logistics/systems and management experience in emergency and/or development context. • Distribution / warehouse management experience • Transport management experience • Knowledge of HF/VHF radio systems • Procurement and import/export experience • Previous experience in project and/or camp management in emergency programmes • Ability to work as part of a team • Practical, adaptable and resourceful • Good interpersonal and communications skills • Good organisational, planning and management skills • Ability to work under pressure • Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity • Knowledge of MS Office
