Maintenance Officer – Honiara, Solomon Islands

RAMSI is a partnership between the Solomon Islands Government, the people of the Solomon Islands and the contributing countries of the Pacific Region to restore stability to the Solomon Islands after a period of internal conflict. DSSSI provides logistical support to RAMSI staff including (but not limited to): management of vehicles, maintenance and repairs of accommodation, management of subcontracts and house leases, induction programs for new staff and demobilization services.

The Operations Manager will work closely with the Team Leader to manage logistical support services for deployees to the Regional Assistance Mission Solomon Islands (RAMSI). DSSSI manages logistical services including (but not limited to) accommodation, security services, maintenance and repairs, vehicles, mobilization and demobilization, induction briefings, recruitment, communications and other services relevant to the deployment of a large development program. The operations Manager will support the Team Leader to oversee the day to day management of the program.

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated:

• Proven program management experience, preferably with a focus on the provision of logistical support or a similar technical environment; • Outstanding leadership, communication and administrative skills; • Ability to work in a cross cultural environment; • Strong financial acumen; • Proven understanding of the role that the MIS database can play in disseminating information; • Leadership support of a program or activity that comprises diverse forms of technical support and personnel from varied professional, cultural and language backgrounds.
