The Faculty of Health Sciences seek excellence in research and teaching. Candidates should comply with the criteria of extensive research accomplishment and dedication to teaching.

Duties:
• Academic and service related leadership and management;
• Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and guidance/supervision of postgraduate students;
• Leadership and participation in research;
• Rendering a clinical service in the discipline of Psychiatry.

Requirements:
• A Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry;
• PhD or academic equivalent;
• teaching experience in Psychiatry at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
• Management experience within an academic environment;
• Experience in and a proven record of independent research and project management;
• Compliance with criteria for registration as Psychiatrist with the South African Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).

Recommendation:
• A record of successful applications for research grants.

Appointment is on the joint establishment of Stellenbosch University and the Provincial Government of the Western Cape at Head of Clinical Department level.
