Regional Fundraising Coordinator RESULTS UK

International anti-poverty campaigns organisation RESULTS UK is recruiting for a team of full and part time volunteer fundraising coordinators to lead our major national fundraiser ‘Live Below the Line’. The positions will last for approx. 8 weeks, from mid-March to mid-May. We are looking to recruit across all the regions of the UK.

This year, in support of our work, we are taking part in a major, celebrity-backed national fundraising campaign, designed to raise awareness of extreme poverty and to inspire people into action against it, whilst raising money to support RESULTS’ work. The campaign is an exciting, sponsored challenge event called ‘Live Below the Line’ which challenges participants to spend only £5 per day, for 5 days, on all their food and drink. This is the second year we have taken part in the campaign and we are looking to broaden our reach and impact.

As such, we’re looking for passionate, self-motivated and confident volunteers to help us engage as many people as possible with this fundraiser and the work of RESULTS. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working on a major national fundraising campaign and working with volunteers, development professionals and the media.

This is an unpaid position but we will provide travel and food expenses, as well as resources for materials and any other necessary expenditures. We also support our volunteers to come and attend the RESULTS National conference held in central London in April.

Responsibilities will include:
• Leading our outreach and activation programme to sign people up as participants who are fundraising for RESULTS.
• Locating and engaging civil society groups within your region on the issue of extreme poverty and signing them up as partners to support RESULTS’ outreach around this event.
• Visiting universities to inform students about extreme poverty and get them to take part in fundraising.
• Providing a point of contact for regional participants on issues relating to the campaign.
• Helping participants to generate media coverage for their activities with support from RESULTS office.
• Working with existing RESULTS activists and groups to induct new members after the fundraiser.

Skills required:
• Knowledge of/interest in international development and confidence to speak about these issues to groups of people.
• Good organisational skills including experience organising events.
• Willingness with volunteers and/or community and student groups.
• Good interpersonal skills, including a sense of humour and the ability to motivate self and others.
• Willingness to travel widely and network with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

To apply send a CV and cover letter to jobs@results.org.uk by start of business on the 24th February 2012.
