Summary of Job Profile

The Microsoft Online Services Division Search BG team seeks a Sr. Search Partnership Manager to support the Yahoo! publisher business migration and ongoing management to ensure delivery against Microsoft’s obligations relative to supporting Yahoo’s publisher business. In conjunction with adjacent stakeholders, the role will champion and advance performance, revenue growth and Yahoo! publisher satisfaction in ways that are consistent with attractive advertiser experiences and marketplace principles. The role is critical to the long-term health of the Yahoo/Microsoft search alliance, and to the overall health and growth of the search alliance network. Position will be based in region.

Core Responsibilities:
Y! Transition (3-5 months prior to market launch)
As a member of this team you will be working with senior leaders within Microsoft and Yahoo with significant visibility for the overall health and execution of the publisher business migration within the search alliance to help with the Y! transition thru stabilization period into steady-state operations.

• Primary regional POC for Yahoo’s regional publisher teams, responsible for supporting Global PMO toward successful market launch
• Liaison with HQ based publisher teams (Y! and MSFT)
• Responsible for communication and status reporting to field and country leadership.
• Responsible for implementing and customizing Market Implementation Guide and supporting market specific project plans.
• Partner with Global PMO to support implementation for markets in region
• Define and implement steady state strategy and processes
• Escalation POC for local Y! contacts for managing issues, decisions, and relationship

Y! Steady State
After transition, this role will function as the MSA Search BG regional publisher lead providing publisher business account management and business operations support to Y! Regional Search Operations Publisher lead or other points of contact as may be identified.

• Report Regional ROB across Y! and MS focused on improving the health of the partnership and provide market scorecard for Y! publisher business
• Manage the relationship with Y! regional publisher search ops lead and other relevant parties, including on-going performance analysis, support for new products deployment and proactive management of issues
• Jointly design revenue optimization plan on partnership performance for Monthly Business Review process in ways that support the advertiser experience and marketplace health
• Provide support for ongoing Y! publisher product requirements and participate in cross-functional product v-teams as needed to ensure regional requirements are reflected in global planning process
• Recommend, champion and advance creative solutions to strengthen strategic alliance
• Establish deep, trusted relationships across regional and corporate leadership (Yahoo!, C&O, BG, Engineering)
• Report into and communicate as part of regional governance framework monthly status of relationship KPIs
• Communicate to stakeholders overall scorecard and health of the publisher network
• Joint review of of Yahoo pubSat programs and manage action plans
• Address escalations from Microsoft and Yahoo field teams and escalate as necessary to broader search alliance leadership


Experience/Qualification Profile

The ideal candidate would have:
• Extensive knowledge of online media and search advertising; including partner management / partner solutions/partner monetization experience supporting premium publishers
• Extensive knowledge of paid search and contextual advertising and monetization on behalf of publishers. Mobile search experience and working knowledge of affiliate search business also desirable.
• Demonstrated capability in working collaboratively across a matrixed environment to drive results for the business. Must be comfortable dealing with complex and ambiguous issues
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills and understanding of project management
• Strong public communication and presentation skills
• Extensive knowledge of adCenter technology and feature set, prior knowledge of YSM/Panama capabilities a plus
• Experience establishing and nurturing senior-level, long term relationships with executives
• Demonstrated capability to influence partners and internal stakeholders at varying levels to support business goals
• Exceptional communicator and active listener who has successfully established open and bi-directional feedback mechanisms and who actively seeks constructive feedback
• Proven track record of exceptional performance, high productivity and meeting deadlines
• University degree required, MBA a plus
• 25-50% travel required
