Director of Programmes

Your responsibilities:

You will be responsible for WWF Switzerland’s environmental activities at home and abroad, with the aim of achieving the greatest possible environmental impact in line with our mission using the resources available.

You will play an active role in shaping the overall strategy of WWF Switzerland, design the programme strategy and ensure that it is implemented consistently. You will motivate people both within and outside the WWF to work towards its objectives and promote a working culture geared to innovation and effectiveness.
You will manage a number of section heads and a staff unit within your department, support and encourage your staff in their specialist and functional activities and include them systematically in strategy development and objective setting.

As a member of the Management Team you will foster an active working relationship with the CEO and the other members of senior management and share responsibility for the successful implementation of the strategy, the ongoing development of an effect-oriented culture and the efficient design of processes and structures both in your own department and throughout the organisation.

You will represent WWF Switzerland in public, in the media, in committees of the WWF network, in political negotiations and in our work with our partners.

Your profile:

You will be highly motivated, work and think strategically, purposefully and with a focus on results, test out new solutions and implement goals in cooperation with your staff and external partners. You will have at least seven years of professional experience and four years of management experience in NGOs, business or administration and are familiar with the problems and solutions of national and international environmental protection. You will have a university degree and a further qualification in corporate management.

You will be completely fluent in English, German and French. The place of work is Zurich, Lausanne or Bellinzona.
