Asset Protection Analyst , Tanzania

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION ANALYST (APU)

African Barrick Gold’s Dar es Salaam Office seeks to employ a qualified and experienced Criminal Investigation Analyst experienced in the collection, management, and dissemination of actionable intelligence through to outcome. The incumbent will form part of the Asset Protection Unit (APU) supporting investigation into the strategic priorities of ABG.

Under guidance and direction of the Head and Senior Analyst APU and working as part of a dedicated team, duties relevant to the role include:-

i. The collection, management, analysis and dissemination of information from various overt and covert sources;
ii. The application of investigative, research and analytical techniques to information in order to inform African Barrick Gold (ABG) General Counsel, to provide appropriate tactical response or to identify future threats
iii. The preparing and maintenance of profiles on individuals/groups/locations that are suspected of being problematic and harmful to African Barrick Gold, it’s assets and business;
iv. To work collaboratively with members of ABG in order to achieve the above;
v. Accurate recording and administration of all activities with the overall objective of creating evidence which can be used or developed in ABG internal investigations and subsequent discipline hearings or presented to host law enforcement for criminal investigation under relevant legislation;

In relation to the above, the following conditions apply:-

i. To report, immediately, to an appropriate level of ABG management any information which indicates activities which are in contravention of host legislation, or ABG Policy or harmful to ABG’s current assets or business interests.

ii. As this role is regarded as a Position of Trust, incumbents are required to submit themselves to any anti corruption testing deemed appropriate by ABG;

iii. The necessity, at times, to work in a covert manner in order to protect oneself, sources or any deployed sources and ABG interests. A high level of integrity is expected in the role;


Essential Qualifications

i. At least 15 years relevant experience in criminal investigations;
ii. The ability to interpret varied and numerous pieces of information, reaching a reasoned assessment;
iii. Criminal case management;
iv. Substantial experience of criminal intelligence systems including its collection, handling, management and dissemination;
v. The ability to maintain criminal intelligence records and systems and to produce impactive documents/reports to inform and guide internal and external investigations.
