Assistant Project Coordinator Global Human Rights Defence

Global Human Rights Defence is offering an unpaid internship position within the project department for students and/or recently graduated students with a major in project management or a similar relevant field. The intern will assist the project coordinator on writing, reporting and research related to GHRDs project, project activities in South Asia and the Netherlands and with applications to relevant funds at Dutch and European level.
Availability: A minimum period of three months, with the possibility of extension commencing in July 2012.
The internship will be conducted at the head office, The Hague, The Netherlands.
No remuneration is offered for this position.

Assistant Project coordinator
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor Dutch (public and organizational) funds;
  • Monitor European funds and policies in the field of Humanitarian Aid, Human Rights and Youth Education;
  • Support the project coordinator in drafting European project proposals and in particular Youth projects under the YOUTH IN ACTION Programme of the European Commission;
  • Carry out administrative tasks and procedures related with the submission of projects;
  • Prepare informative and PR material for partners and participants related to the projects;
  • Participate and collaborate in the organisation of projects related events and trainings in the fields of project management and human rights;
  • Participation/ coordination in Student Exchange Programmes;
  • Edit, proof and translate documents.

Profile
  • University student or recently graduated in international project management or relevant field.
  • Good knowledge of the Dutch public and organizational funds
  • Good knowledge of the European system
  • Good knowledge of grants, funds and programmes funded by the European Union, in particular youth programmes.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills (native Dutch/ near native English)
  • Flexible, committed and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Residence near the Hague is desirable
