CGIAR is a global agriculture research partnership for a food secure future. Its science is carried out by the 15 research centers who are members of the CGIAR Consortium in collaboration with hundreds of partner organizations. The CGIAR Consortium Office is now seeking two dynamic and highly motivated individuals to be part of its leadership team. Both positions will be based at its head office in Montpellier, France:

Director of Staff/Chef de Cabinet to the CEO

This position will be the primary director-level support and advisor to the CEO in advancing (and expanding) the vision and agenda of the CEO, and assisting with the coordination of activities and projects across departmental boundaries both internally and externally to the Consortium Office.

The successful candidate will have a strong background and academic qualification (PhD level) in a research field relevant to agriculture or the environment for development, with solid international experience and standing/reputation in his/her field. The disciplinary expertise must be coupled with strong management competence, including experience in developing and leading complex change management initiatives.

Director of Finance and Corporate Services

The position will play a key role in the Consortium Office leadership team, and lead collective efforts with member centers and research programs to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of financial reporting, corporate services, human resources and administration across the Consortium.

The successful candidate will have: an advanced university degree in finance, accounting, business administration and/or a related field, or bachelor degree or equivalent combined with longer work experience and CPA or ACA certification (or equivalent); at least 15 years’ management experience with international organisations at similar level of responsibility and scope (public sector experience mandatory, additional private sector experience preferred); experience in
implementation and maintenance of business, financial/HR reporting tools and software systems; successful track record in managing donor relations and contracts with multi/bilateral and private-funding agencies.
