HR Manager -Tulawaka Gold Mine

Currently ABG has two open positions in the Human Resources Department at Tulawaka Mine site and Bulyanhulu Mine.
We are seeking a dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Human Resources Manager to join the HR Team so as to work at Tulawaka or Bulyanhulu Mine to achieve and surpass safety, training and quality objectives to the reward of both the individual and PML.
Reporting Line: Organisation Effectiveness Manager
Location: Tulawaka Mine Site or Bulyanhulu Mine Site
Work Schedule: Rotational Status (6 Weeks on 3 Weeks off)
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Provide leadership to the HR team to ensure the development of a working environment that is conducive to the achievement of Department KPIs and that employees achieve their full potential by gaining new skills through the provision of effective mentoring and training programs.
· Provide the leadership necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to Safety and environmental standards that exceed worldwide industry standards and any applicable legislation.
· Develop and implement human resource (HR) and organization development (OD) strategies, policies and procedures to ensure consistent and equitable consideration and Management of all employees.
· In association with Barrick corporate, Regional and local Senior Counsel, monitor appropriate legislation to ensure that Tulawaka / Bulyanhulu employment policies and procedures comply with Tanzanian labour/ employment laws.
· Manage the HR Departments operating and capital costs by ensuring annual budgets are prepared and approved on time and in accordance to established guidelines and that compliance with them is monitored and appropriate action is taken to address Variances.
· Manage the recruitment and employee retention processes to ensure the availability of a competent workforce.
· Manage employee benefits and remuneration policies and processes to ensure that Tulawaka / Bulyanhulu are able to attract and maintain a highly skilled workforce at optimum cost.
· Provide support to Management to ensure Tulawaka / Bulyanhulu performance management and employee development programmes deliver results and improve the skill and competence of the workforce ensuring that good performance is recognized and rewarded and substandard performance and behaviour is addressed.
· Facilitate the annual implementation of the performance management process to ensure effective planning and compliance with both Regional and corporate Standards and timelines.
· Support management in the consistent, fair and equitable implementation of employee’s relations policies and procedures to ensure a co-operative workplace climate.
· Contribute to the senior Management team of Tulawaka / Bulyanhulu to ensure that targets in respect of employee productivity, safe working, cost management and corporate governance are achieved and the company s philosophy of continuous improvement is always at the forefront.
· Manage all activities associated with the administration of the camp facilities at Tulawaka to ensure customer satisfaction and the achievement of optimum costs.
· Ensure Tulawaka’s / Bulyanhulu’s interests are properly represented at a local, regional, and national level by playing a leading role in all appropriate committees, working groups and forums.
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
  • Degree in Business, Commerce or Social Sciences.
Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of ten years professional work experience in private industry with at least five years in HR management role.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing Human Resource function including developing policy and promoting acceptance and understanding of policies by line Management and employees in key HR/IR areas including:
Ø Industrial/ Employee Relations.
Ø Remuneration and Benefits planning and Administration
Ø Recruitment and Selection
Ø Education and Development
Ø Performance Management (performance appraisals, career, and Succession planning.
