North America Payroll Manager

This position will have responsibility for the execution of US domestic and Canadian domestic payrolls for the Coca-Cola Company and several of its subsidiaries, delivered to over 10,000 employees in 47 states and 4 provinces. This position will directly manage the Payroll Services department, a part of Global Business Services. Payroll Services staff are located in Atlanta, Georgia and Toronto, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities for the position include:

Manage time & attendance for 20+ facilities and exception hourly populations on a variety of platforms, including SAP, ADP eTIME, Kronos, AS400, and Datamatics.

Manage the outsourcing arrangement
with payroll vendors for activities such as gross-to-net calculation, tax filing, reporting,garnishment, and employee call centers.

Oversee compliance with Federal, State, Local, and Provincial laws and regulations.

Manage payroll funding to ensure timely delivery of net pay and deposit of tax to agencies.

Maintain and negotiate contracts with various vendors.

Maintain SOX compliance and theexecution of internal controls.

Manage the response to all internal and external audits. Serve as point of escalation for issues and interact with executive level management.
Interact and monitor vendors, including (but not limited to) tax accountants, expatriate tax consultants, relocation services, health & welfare vendors, and employee leave administrators.
Own the execution of annual cycles/projects including Payroll Year End, Rewards, and CorporateTax Project.

Work with internal partners, such as Payroll Accounting, Accounts Payable, Corporate Tax, Compensation, Benefits, HR, Security, Global Information Technology

In addition to demonstrated experience in the executing the previously listed responsibilities, the ideal candidate will have:

Strong systems knowledge and experience
Strong experience in Accounting, Finance, Executive Compensation, Retirement Plans, and Equity
Experience in individual tax filing and corporate tax filing
Knowledge of the Coca-Cola system
Experience working with SAP HR, ADP ProBusiness, eTIME

Function Specific Activities:

Educate managers and employees on HR policies, plans, programs, practices, processes, and tools (e.g., compensation, benefits, development projects, EEO) to ensure knowledge transfer, enhanced organizational capability related to the management and development of people, and consistent delivery.

Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and value of service delivered meets KO standards and implement changes as needed.

Contact vendor with day-to-day data corrections, plan/program changes, in order to resolve conflicts between employees the Company and outside vendors.

Educate vendor on all program details and process issues surrounding outsourced HR plans/programs/processes including the development and implementation of third party vendor processing schedules and coordination of data flow ensuring timely transmittal to vendors.

Verify and transmit transactional and informational electronic tape and data feeds (e.g., benefit, stock option, payroll, timekeeping) to ensure accuracy and delivery to appropriate department, system, and/or outsource vendors by deadlines.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
work experience

Technical Skills:

Compliance: Knowledge of regulatory laws that affect compensation and benefit plans. This includes knowledge of ERISA, FLSA, defined benefit/contribution plans, and health & welfare plans to ensure consistency of application and legal compliance.

Data Analysis: Knowledge of data analysis methods, which includes the ability to analyze and interpret data.

Payroll Processing: Knowledge of payroll processes, application, and delivery.

HRIS System: Knowledge of HRIS systems, processes, and interrelationships of data transfers (e.g., People Soft, BW, Stock, SAP).

Consumer Focus: Demonstrating understanding of how one's actions and/or work impact the Company's relationship with consumers.
