Humanitarian Support Personnel (HSP) – French Speaking Logistician

£24,245 - £30,853 net salary per annum, equivalent to £32,180 - £41,898 GBP UK gross.

You will be based and deployed from your home country but managed by Oxfam's Humanitarian Department based in Oxford UK. Deployments will be up to 9 months in one location (usual deployments are 3-6 months).

Wherever they are in the world, our Humanitarian Support Personnel achieve incredible results. They make up a diverse international group that moves directly to regions facing humanitarian crises, providing support where it's needed most. The role focuses on delivering Supply & Logistics requirement in these regions, you’ll be there to make sure the right help reaches the right people at the right time.
The role
HSP Logisticians are deployed for three to six months throughout the world to provide Supply and Logistics support to the programmes, countries, or regions. The nature of the support varies during each deployment and specific terms of reference will be provided but the nature of the expert support that HSP Logisticians provide means that they have a broad range of experience and expertise that allows them to “hit the ground running”. However, it is equally important that they are able to adapt their style to situations where the priority is for them to build capacity in country. Where necessary, HSP Logisticians will also have on-the-ground responsibility for security protocols.
What we’re looking for
An influential and adaptable person with fluent French and English (Spanish desirable) Manager who can lead a team and ensure that Supply & Logistics activities are managed well in the multi-functional structure of an Oxfam program. Humanitarian work experienced person, having high standard of integrity, capable of making decisions and standing by them. More importantly, you’ll have applied all of this knowledge extensively in the field, notably in front-line emergencies.
